1 Voice, 1 Play, 1 Day As Rising Stars of Broadway, Film and Television Bring It Home to

New Orleans For Project  1 Voice With A Tribute To Dillard University Theatre

(May 30, 2012, New Orleans, LA) Lloyd Watts, rising Broadway and film star, a New Orleans native, has been seen on stage with Meryl Streep, and Kevin Kline.  He can be seen in a PBS documentary film "The Stoop:  Looking for Lenny" where he share face time with Roseanne Barr, Phyllis Diller, Paul Mooney and a host of other stars and a TV pilot, "Revamped", which is based on the New Orleans educational system; along with Nicoye Banks a talented young producer, stage and film actor, also from New Orleans, who can be seen in "Green Zone", "Brooklyn's Finest", the landmark film "Changing the Game" and has had a recurring role on "Law & Order", share the stage with film and stage actor Sherri Marina. Ms. Marina's credits include the HBO series "Sex and the City" and stage work in "Cloud Nine" "Fences" and "Jar the Floor" as well as nine years of service as the former Chair of the Department of Theatre at Dillard University.  All three perform on June 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in a unique presentation of THE AMEN CORNER by James Baldwin.  Produced by American Theatre Project in collaboration with Dillard University Theatre, in association with PROJECT 1 VOICE at Georges Auditorium on the Dillard University campus, the production is designed as a "staged reading". The one-night-only event looks and feels like a full-fledged play where sooner or later with these stellar personalities on the stage, the "script-in-hand" aspect of the performance disappears.
